The Peregrines of
Kaohsiung, January 2010: Air Combat
The
two Peregrine Falcons Falco peregrinus, of Kaohsiung,
‘Whitey’ (male) and ‘Blackie’ (female), first reported and
photographed by Jason Tu during the winter of 2006–2007, are still
using a 22nd floor apartment ledge as a daytime roost and
‘dining room’ during the winter months. They often fight over the
food they catch, to decide which bird gets to eat first.
